Senior Tax Associate

Location: Atlanta, GA

Position Type: Hybrid / Full – time

Firm Size: Mid-size Firm / 25 – 30 employees

Experience: 5+ years of public accounting experience preferred

Job Description:

Smith Adcock and Company’s LLP is looking for a Senior Associate to join our Tax Team! As a Senior Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with the team on a wide range of complex tax preparation engagements for our clients. Tax engagements include high net worth individuals, partnership, corporation, gift, estate and trust tax returns. Our firm provides excellent compensation, benefits, and a strong career path for highly performing professionals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file complex tax returns on behalf of our clients.
  • Clearly and adequately prepare the working papers for the supporting tax file.
  • Effectively work independently, as well as within a team.
  • Maintain open communication with the Partner or Manager in charge of the engagement
  • regarding questions, issues that arise, and the progress of completion on projects.
  • Perform tax research and staying up to date on tax law changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Licensed CPA or CPA Candidate preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in public accounting is preferred
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Thomson Reuters Ultra Tax CS is a plus

As an Audit Manager, you will have the opportunity to plan and manage financial statement engagements. Industry exposure includes construction, real estate, employee benefit plans, non- profits, and closely held businesses. Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage and perform financial statement
  • Obtain a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes and business objectives, and utilize that knowledge to perform engagement procedures.
