Al Clark, CPA, MBA is a partner in the firm where he focuses principally on the construction industry as well as professional and other high income / high net worth individuals. He is a member of The Georgia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs, as well as several construction organizations including AGC, CFMA, ABC, AECA, IECA, and GUCA.
Al is the past Chairman for the National Tax and Legislative Affairs Committee of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA); a member of other CFMA national committees; a prior board member of the CFMA Georgia chapter; member of the National Financial Issues Forum of AGC of America; a past board member and past treasurer of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)–Georgia chapter; a board member and past president of American Subcontractors Association–Georgia chapter; and a member of the Atlanta Tax Forum.
He has authored the 500+ page “Federal Income Tax Answers for the Construction Financial Professional” for CFMA; a co-author of the CFMA Revenue Recognition Course; developer of the CFMA Guide to State Lax Laws; author, author and presenter of Accounting and Financial Reporting in the Construction Industry; and a frequent writer and presenter of construction tax and accounting courses and presentations for many local and national professional trade groups.
He is a frequent author for national construction related publications. He is the recipient of the CFMA Chairman’s Award for 2016.
Jeffrey W. Woolums, CPA is a Partner with Smith, Adcock and Company and has over 35 years of public accounting experience. He has extensive experience in corporate accounting, auditing, and financial reporting, with a concentration in the construction industry. He also has extensive experience in tax planning and compliance for individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates. He has performed audit engagements of general contractors and subcontractors in the areas of commercial, heavy, and highway construction. He has also performed numerous audits of other types of entities, including automobile dealerships, city governments, and employee benefit plans.
Jeff is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated General Contractors of America, and the Georgia Surety Association.
Jeff graduated cum laude from Clayton State University in June 1989. Starting with the firm in July 1989, Jeff’s entire career has been with Smith, Adcock and Company. He was admitted to the firm as a Partner in January 2004.
Jeff enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and volunteering at his church.
James joined the firm in 1998 after first working for a manufacturing company and then a local Atlanta CPA firm. James provides tax advisory and compliance services to closely held businesses and their owners including numerous restaurant, real estate, and construction entities.
James graduated from Augusta State University with a B.B.A. Degree in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.
James is an active member in the Associated General Contractors – Georgia, Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia, and Surety Association of Georgia. He enjoys golf, wing shooting, and spending time with family.
Rodney L. Chandler, CPA, manages the Athens office of our firm. Rodney combines technical knowledge with accessibility and open communication as he offers advice and services to small businesses and their owners, medical professionals, farmers, non-profit organizations, and construction / real estate companies.
He earned CPA license 14140 in 1993, joined Smith Adcock in 1999, and became a partner in 2005. Rodney is a Madison County native and holds bachelor’s degrees from Berry College in Accounting and Political Science.
Professionally, Rodney served as the Chairman of the Board of the Georgia Society of CPAs from 2017-2018, and continues his long history of service to that organization and the profession. He also serves as a Director and Chairman of the Board of Jackson Electric Membership Cooperative (Jefferson, GA), as a Director and Treasurer of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, and as a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Madison County.
Rodney and his wife Jill were blessed with three children, Ben, Sam, and Elizabeth, and they reside in Danielsville. Away from work, they enjoy their empty(ing) nest, family and church activities, and home projects.. Rodney and Jill attend Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, where Rodney serves as a deacon.

Jeremy A. Burch is a CPA with over 10 years of experience providing comprehensive financial services to individuals and businesses. Currently, he is a Partner at the Athens, GA office Smith, Adcock and Company.
Jeremy earned his Bachelor of Science in Family Financial Planning from the University of Georgia and holds Masters degrees from Mercer University in Business Administration and Accountancy.
Jeremy has a diverse background in public accounting, having worked with a wide range of clients from small businesses to large corporations. His areas of expertise include tax planning and compliance, client accounting services, and financial consulting.
Jeremy is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Geogia Society of CPAs. He is also a 2023 graduate of the AICPA Leadership Academy.
Outisde of work, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife Dawn and his two children Emmie and Sullivan. He is an avid college sports fan and loves supporting UGA whenever he can.
